The tables have turned, somewhat. Thankfully, no longer are the days of Mets killer Pat Burrell blasting home runs in what seemed to be every at-bat against our Mets. The same guy who couldn’t get a hit against the rest of the league would tear it up when he faced the Mets. But that’s over and done with.
Quietly, the Mets have been brewing a Phillies killer of their own in Scott Hairston, who thus far this season hit 5 home runs and 9 RBI’s in 34 at-bats vs the Phillies. In 11 games, he’s hitting a cool .324.
Phillies radio man, Scott Franzke has been taking notice as exampled in this between innings profanity laced tirade aimed at Scott Hairston, likely from the July 4th game in which the Phillies won 9-2.
“Will somebody figure out how to f***ing get Scott Hairston out? He stinks! Jesus Christ!”
