Sandy Alderson’s First Taste of New York

Sandy Alderson just got his first lesson in ‘New York’, claiming the fan and media attention given to Luis Castillo and Oliver Perez is a bit peculiar.

“It’s a little odd,” Alderson said. “I think it does distract one from taking a look at the team as a whole and having a more balanced view of the team as a whole. It’s easy to focus in on a couple of negatives and kind of ride that into the ground.”

A couple? Just a couple of negatives? That’s an understatement.

Hey Sandy, this isn’t the Oakland A’s where sleepy Art Howe was coaching, or laid back San Diego where you can lose 100 games and no one will notice. The fans here know what’s up and its time for you to catch up. What we’ve known for years, he is slowly finding out for himself. In my eyes, too damn slow.

I does look as though he is beginning to catch on. He’s no idiot, he knows if he doesn’t do the right thing with these two bums, he’ll quickly be anointed on the fans shit list.

“We have to deal with reality, and sometimes those perceptions have to be taken into account.”

Smart words Sandy, don’t fuck it up, and welcome to the big apple. This is how we do here.
