Luis Castillo Doesn’t Get It

If I was Luis Castillo, I’d be one of the first ones in camp. Considering his status, the fact that he’s basically playing for his career and knowing there’s going to be a competition for second base, it should’ve been a priority for him to get his ass in camp early.

Not that he was late or anything, but actions speak volumes and his actions basically say that he doesn’t give a shit. Now I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since we don’t really know why he was not early.

Maybe he had a good excuse, or maybe he didn’t, we don’t know. What we do know is he didn’t care to come early as the other three second base candidates did, Daniel Murphy, Brad Emaus, and Justin Turner.

Terry Collins isn’t thrilled by his lack of urgency.

“I was hoping he would be here,” Mr. Collins said. “I’m a real believer in sending a message to the organization as a player.”

I got news for you Luis. This is a new regime, and hopefully there won’t be any tolerance for coasters. You better come hard in spring boy or good riddance to you my friend. Can’t wait!
