The Nationals have beaten the Mets this year. The Nats have beaten the Mets much more than a last place team should ever beat a first place team.
However, if you check the Mets’ Press Notes, you would never know this fact. You would think the Mets are 2-0 against the Nats. But they’re not. After tonight’s loss they are actually 3-3 against the last place Nationals. We chronicled Mets-Nats futility we were present for here and here.
But the Mets Press Notes say the series is 2-0 Mets. Wishful thinking.
And, I would bet $100 that Jorge Sosa is hurt, because the way he pitched tonight sucked ass.
